3D modeling is the bringing of real life into the virtual world and the cornerstone of Web3. In fact, often even better than photographs. With 3D modeling, it is possible to create hyper-realistic images with beams of light, a color gamut perfectly in place – making 3D modeling a valuable technique in marketing.

What is 3D modeling?

3D modeling is a technique in computer graphics that creates a virtual three-dimensional spatial model. This is called a 3D model. A 3D model is essentially a network of points.

The points in the grid are called vertexes, which are essentially points or positions in three-dimensional space. When you connect the points, you create edges. An edge connects two points in a straight line. Connecting the edges creates faces, which are used to create the 3D surfaces that appear in models. Polygons, however, can consist of any number of points and edges. 3D objects are made up of three types of polygons. The computer processes all the faces by first dividing them into triangles. This process is called tessellation. This ultimately creates a 3D model.

3D modeling uses specialized computer software, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Blender.

3D modeling is used in virtual reality, video games, 3D printing, marketing, cinema, science, medical research, the textile industry, etc.
